¡Motívate! is a student-lead movement to inspire and motivate Latino students to continue with their higher education. Our goal is to battle the growing dropout rates within the Latino Community here in the Central Valley.

For example, at California State University, Fresno, Hispanic students now make up the highest percentage of the student population (36.10%), according to Fresno State Institutional Research, Assessment and Planning statistics.

Although these statistics show how the Latino Community is thriving at this educational institution, 14% of full-time and 50% of part-time Hispanic students dropout within their freshman year (Fresno State Institutional Research, Assessment and Planning statistics).

The following is the first of many interviews with local Latino professionals that we hope to share with you as examples of the wide variety of professions and industries that you might consider when looking into where you would like to take your education.
